Who's the Gentry?

Whilst being interviewed by the press after a game at Halifax he famously commented "Preston fans are the best, they're the gentry."
Fans responded by wearing bowler hats, some even went a step further by attending matches in smart suits and carrying rolled umbrellas.
In 2005 PSG arranged the “Return of the Gentry” in memory of John Tracey, a member of the original PNE Gentry who sadly passed away. This was a massive success and the season culminated in North End reaching the Playoff Final.
In 2008 with the support of PNE-Online, PSG decided to make it an annual event for all North End fans and the people of Preston to remember anyone they may have lost during that season/year.
There will be a massive following of North Enders on this trip and we hope to see as many of you donning your bowlers yet again, for this great cause.
